Stara Hasicka - Mimari Yarışma

The subject of the competition was the design of the cultural and social centre Stará Hasička (former fire station). ​ The project also included the adjustment of the adjacent public space in the extent of the area, where the social events of the city district (feasts, Christmas festivals, concerts, etc.) are held. The design was to be worked out in the details of an architectural study.

The existing state of the Old Fire Brigade is already unsatisfactory and was need to be modernized. The building of the cultural and social centre needs to have a multifunctional space, clubrooms with appropriate facilities and should serve the inhabitants of the city district.

We redesigned the ground floor a much more functional way with respect to the historical structure of the building.
A first floor and a green roof were added to the existing situation. The outdoor stairs were also designed as a sitting area for events along the square. The basement level which is used as storage was redesigned as a cafe. The main entrance was moved to the north of the building and a contemporary facade was applied.
